Highlands Art Center is all about the artists! Our vision is creativity, collaboration, and professional growth for artists of all disciplines.

Here you can focus on your work in a way that works for you. And when you’re ready to connect, you’ll have access to a whole host of working artists with which to collaborate and bounce ideas off of, learn from, teach, and share in the experience of artistic pursuit.

Plus, arts-related programming for the gallery, classroom, and event space activates the Highlands Art Center as not only a place to create, but a part of the community at large. It is a cornerstone in the park-like Highlands neighborhood, host of the Cherokee Triangle Arts Festival and longtime supporter of the arts.

Located in an early 1960s school, the studios blend historic character and modern functionality. The structure and layout can support a diverse range of creative practices. Each studio includes:

• Wi-Fi
• Radiant heat
• Natural light
• High ceilings
• Color temperature-selectable LED lighting
• Secure keypad door lock
• Utility sink access (private sinks available in select rooms)

As a member artist you’ll also have access to common areas and amenities such as:

• Shared kitchen and break room
• Managed off-street parking access
• Lounge for entertaining patrons
• Outdoor patio for access to nature
• A true sanctuary for creative contemplation
• Designated gallery for member and non-member artists

Additionally you’ll receive inclusion in our artist directory — a personalized web presence on our site featuring a profile with headshot, portfolio links or featured work, and a custom QR code for personal use.

Flexible leasing options and accessible spaces are available. Group rental/shared space requires an application from each artist involved. (Note: for security purposes, each artist will be required to pass an individual background check at their own expense prior to contract signing.)
